Following the Breadcrumbs God Leaves Along Our Path
What if God is speaking through ordinary moments more often than we realize?
A conversation that stays with us. A door that closes. A quiet nudge we can’t quite explain. An unexpected invitation that seems to come at just the right time.
The challenge is learning to notice these moments before we have any idea where they’re leading, and trusting the next step.
Over time, we may begin to see that God’s guidance doesn’t always come as an answer. Sometimes, it comes as a trail.
What to Do When God Seems Silent
Has silence ever made you feel like God is far away? When we feel this way, it’s easy to start looking for answers or waiting for a clear sign. But prayer can also be as simple as slowing down and noticing what’s already here. The breeze. The waves. Your breath. The quiet. God’s presence doesn’t always come through words. Sometimes we just need to be still enough to notice.
Let God Alone Define You
Ever have someone’s words get stuck in your head?
Maybe they criticized you, misunderstood you, or told a story about you that doesn’t feel true. And before long, you’re holding a courtroom in your mind—defending yourself, replaying the conversation, wondering if maybe they’re right.
There’s another way.
Bring it into the quiet with God.
Ask: Is there something here I need to learn? Is there something I need to own? And what was never mine to carry in the first place?
We can stay humble enough to receive the truth without letting someone else’s opinion become our identity.
Because in the end, God alone defines you.
Learning to Practice Quiet
In a world that constantly demands our attention, true quiet isn’t found by eliminating every distraction. It’s found by learning not to add to the noise. This week’s reflection explores a simple contemplative practice that helps us notice our thoughts without chasing them, reconnect with our bodies, and discover the quiet center where God’s presence has been waiting all along.
Are You Chasing the Dragon?
Have you ever noticed how quickly the mind moves from enjoying a beautiful moment to wondering how to make it last? We spend so much of life chasing the next experience, the next achievement, or the next feeling that we miss the gift already in front of us. What if the peace we’re searching for isn’t somewhere else, but right here in the present moment?
How Grace Rewires Your Brain
The messages we repeat to ourselves shape far more than our thoughts. They shape our hearts, our relationships, and our experience of God. Discover how God’s grace, alongside the science of neuroplasticity, gently renews the mind and helps replace old lies with life-giving truth.
Is That All You’ve Got, God?
Is our longing for God leading us closer to God… or simply toward the next spiritual experience?
In this week’s reflection, I share a story from my twenties that changed how I understood prayer, longing, and God’s presence. Discover why the deepest invitation may not be to seek a bigger experience, but to awaken to the love that’s already here.
What If God Doesn’t Just Love You—but Wants You?
What if the greatest obstacle in your spiritual life isn’t learning how to love God, but learning how to let God love you? In this personal reflection, I explore why receiving God’s love can feel so difficult, how contemplative prayer reshapes our understanding of grace, and what it means to discover that we are not only loved by God—we are wanted.
Everything I Need—A Street-Level Version of Psalm 23
There are days when a single verse seems to meet us exactly where we are. As I sat with the opening words of Psalm 23, they became deeply personal: “The Lord is my shepherd, I have everything I need.” What follows is a street-level prayer that brings this beloved Psalm into the realities of everyday life. My hope is that it helps you discover God’s presence in your own day, exactly where you are.
