God’s Alive In Me

Posted On January 9, 2026

This week’s poem came from a quiet moment of stillness and listening. If you’d prefer to hear it read aloud, you can listen to the audio version here: Link to Audio Version

God’s Alive In Me

For so long,
I searched outside myself
for love,
for life,
for You.

As if You
were somewhere distant,
waiting to be found
beyond the next prayer,
in the next book,
in a self-appointed god
who promised the way.

But when I finally paused,
when I stopped reaching
and listened,
I felt You in me.

Not arriving,
but already here.

In the quiet rise of my lungs,
Your Spirit moving softly,
breath becoming blessing,
Divine Presence flowing within me.

In the gentle tingle beneath my skin,
Your love taking form—
not an idea,
not a belief,
but a living warmth
awake within me.

My feet upon the ground,
steady and rooted,
I receive the holy gift
of being here,
now,
safe in You.

God is alive in me.

No striving.
No searching.
Only presence.

And I realize—
I do not need
to try and find You.

I need only notice
the breath moving in my chest,
the warmth in my body,
the quiet “yes” rising within.

Yes, God, I receive.
I forgot You were here.
I was so busy looking outside myself,
I forgot how near you are,

God’s Alive In Me.

Where This Poem Arose

As I grow older, I realize how much of my life has been spent seeking God outside of myself—through ideas, practices, and people who promised a way forward.

In the quiet, God gently reminds me: I am already here.

This poem arose as an awakening to that simple, embodied truth: God Is Alive In Me.

Your Turn

Pause for a moment.
Let your body settle.

Notice the breath moving in your chest,
the tingle of your feet touching the ground,
the subtle flow of life stirring within you.

See if you can sense God’s living presence within you—within your body,
here,
near,
waiting not to be found,
but to be received.

You might say softly to yourself, as a prayer:

God is here.
I receive.
God is alive in me.

When Meditation Isn’t Working

There are mornings when the hardest thing isn’t getting started…it’s staying.
Staying with your thoughts. Staying in the quiet. Staying when nothing is resolving, shifting, or making sense.
This poem came out of one of those mornings. When everything in me wanted to run, but I stayed. And God met me there.

God Is Gravity

In a quiet moment, a simple image emerged: God is like gravity. Steady, present, and holding us long before we remember to reach. Beneath the noise and effort, that presence remains. This poem is a gentle invitation to return to it.

The Sacred Gift of Stillness

Life moves quickly, and it’s easy to forget the power of simply being still. Yet in the quiet moments, when the noise fades and the striving softens, we often hear the voice that matters most. This poem is an invitation to pause and return to that stillness. Still....
