| Let’s be honest—we all have shards of brokenness. None of us are enlightened or perfectly whole in our humanity. We’ve been broken by tough relationships that didn’t turn out how we hoped. We’ve been shaped—and sometimes scarred—by our own mistakes, which can also teach us valuable lessons if we’re open to it. These painful experiences often lead us to build emotional walls to shield ourselves from further hurt. Yet life is a sacred classroom where we learn the essence of unconditional love. Scripture says, “…by His wounds, we are healed” (Isaiah 53:5), referring to Jesus. But this truth also reveals something profound about our journey: through our wounds, we, too, can experience healing. When we notice our wounds—the raw places within us that sting like a bee’s sharp jab—our first instinct is often to avoid them or pretend they don’t exist. I don’t want to go into the pain! we might cry out internally. Yet, if we summon the courage to acknowledge these wounds, name them, and surrender them to God, something miraculous can happen. Once given over to God’s divine love and guidance, our wounds can become sources of deep healing, inner growth, and transformation. |
